The winner of the Trivia Question is D.C., who knew the answer is D.

According to Chicago Day at the World’s Columbian Exposition by G. L. Dywad and Joy V. Dybwad, the float named “Elestra, the genius of electricity” was an enormous, ornate dragon lit with 2000 incandescent bulbs with a body that changed color from red to green and a gaping mouth that exhaled flaming breath. A picture of the fantastic Elestra graced the front page of the Chicago Daily Tribune the next day (highlighted below in color):
