YOU CAN STILL SEE THE 1893 WORLD’S FAIR
Although the fairgrounds are long gone, countless vestiges and artifacts of the World’s Columbian Exposition survive, and many are on display or are accessible in public spaces. Historic sites associated with the builders of the 1893 World’s Fair provide insight into the design and operation of the WCE, whileย museums, libraries, and other institutions offer access to vast collections of WCE books, manuscripts, and artifacts. From statues to a ship, paintings from the fair to paintings of the fair, stained glass to spring water, a museum from the fair to a museum of the fair, homes to headstones … we’re working to compile a list of sites where you can experience the 1893 World’s Fair today.
Our VESTIGES OF THE FAIRย page (under construction) will collect information about the buildings, structures, decorative art, and displays that were once part of the great Columbian Exposition of 1893. The items are scattered around the globe, but many are still accessible in public spaces.
Our EXHIBITS ABOUT THE FAIRย page (under construction) archives information about current/permanent exhibits and displays as well as those from the past.
We welcome any information you can provide on either of these subjects. You can reach us through our CONTACT US page or at worldsfairchicago1893@gmail.com.
